Heidelberg University is part of the European university cooperation 4EU+, a consortium of six research-oriented universities in six countries of the European Union. Several measures of the 4EU+ program apply to students in the master's program "Scientific Computing":

• Summer Schools organized by partner institutions
• Short-term exchange programs during the term break
• One-term exchange programs with simplified ERASMUS procedures
• Participation in shared courses held at one of the partner institutions

Information on the 4EU+ alliance

The 4EU+ alliance partners are setting up a student exchange for the first term of the second master year. For now, "Scientific Computing" cooperates with master programs at Sorbonne, Prague, Milan and Pantheon-Assas. Interested students apply at the beginning of their first year; each partner has its own qualification rules. 1. Oct 15 – Program starts with call for exchange
2. Nov 15 – Deadline for Heidelberg MSc students in Scientific Computing to apply for exchange candidacy
3. Dec 15 – Board of Studies reviews applications; long list of candidates published
4. Feb 20 – Candidates evaluated on term 1 performance; home university compiles short list
5. +2 weeks – Shortlisted candidates confirm their application
6. First week of March – Alliance partner meeting: consortium ranks candidates (results + host-university fit); final selection based on available funding/seats
7. After selection – Candidates apply for Erasmus funding
8. After selection – Candidates draft learning agreement for winter-term courses at host university
9. End of summer term – Results cross-checked to confirm year-1 study goals met
10. Before departure – Supervision agreement for the network exchange signed (home university, host university, candidate) – exchange finalized
11. Aug/Sep/Oct (per host calendar) – Exchange begins at host university

The call for participation in the exchange program is published each year on this website, on the website of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Heidelberg University, and via the information system in the Mathematikon. Students can expect the call to open with the start of the winter term.

This exchange network of master's programs in artificial intelligence is supported by funding from the EU European Universities Initiative (by 4EU+) as well as the EU Erasmus+ program.
